Active Summer Holidays

Our dense network of hiking and cycling trails is an attraction every summer. Mountain biking, cycling, Nordic walking, hiking or just walking - it is always worth exploring the wonderful nature of the Black Forest. The region also offers climbing, paragliding, sailing, golf and tennis.

Hiking and Nordic walking

Our guests can explore every corner of the Bernauer Hochtal without great effort "on foot" - on leisurely walks, accelerated hiking or - even more dynamically - Nordic walking. We have a network of more than 100 km of well developed and maintained hiking trails starting right at our doorstep. Those who need to go a little higher can climb up our "local mountain", the Herzogenhorn. At more than 1,400 m above sea level, you will be rewarded with magnificent panoramic views of the countryside all round.

Our panorama trail around the high valley, which you can comfortably manage in a day, is especially recommendable. As a premium hiking trail, the "Hochtal-Steig" is one of the most beautiful of its kind in the Upper Black Forest.

If you would like to go on a professional guided tour, you can join the excursions of the Black Forest Association from April to October. It offers guided half-day hikes as well as day tours on which you can explore the "Southern Black Forest Nature Park".

We will be glad to give you a hiking map at the hotel reception.
